 | | Ms. Boehm Turner | Welcome! I am Abby Boehm Turner, one of the 7th grade English teachers at Murray.
I graduated from Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, with a B.A. in English and completed my Master of Arts in Education at Hamline University. After Grinnell, I came to Saint Paul Public Schools. I have spent the past 11 years teaching 7th and 8th grade English and working as a district English coach, where I spend my time working on curriculum and instruction. I am so happy to be at Murray, a school with amazing students, great families, and an incredible staff.
My husband is also a teacher; he teaches high school history at Hopkins High School and coaches football at Blake. We live in Como Park with our son Augie (August), who is 2 1/2 and our daughter Vi (ViolaMae), who is 1. I spend most of my time cooking, reading, and running after our two little ones.
Some fun facts: We are avid baseball fans and have season tickets to the Saint Paul Saints. You'll see us sitting right behind home plate at all of the home games (although we only stay for the first two innings because of the kids' early bed time). My dad and stepmom saved the old State Fair carousel, which is now located at Como Park, and if you look closely, one of the horses has my name under it!
Favorite books: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Angus, Thongs, and Full-frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison
