| Tours of Murray for prospective 7th graders and their families align with the district’s registration process for Junior High.
The kick-off is the Parent Information Fair on Saturday, January 9th at River Center in downtown St. Paul from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On Monday, February 8th, Murray has a Showcase from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for prospective 7th graders and their parents. You will have a chance to hear from our principal, Dr. Winston Tucker and visit classrooms where you will learn about our academically rigorous curriculum from the teachers.
Tours are held on Tuesdays: February 9th, 16th and 23rd at 9:00 a.m. The tour is about 1½ hours. These staff-guided tours are accompanied by 8th grade students who can answer questions from a student's viewpoint. You will get a solid understanding of Murray by visiting classrooms, talking to teachers and students and watching as students change classes. By seeing the school in action we know you'll come to appreciate Murray's special qualities. We would like to welcome all parents and 6th graders to come for a tour. No appointment is necessary.
Shadowing takes place every Wednesday and Thursday from 8:45am to 1:35pm in February. It is an opportunity for your 6th grade student to spend part of a day with a 7th grader . Your son or daughter will walk the hallways to classes, attend 3 classes, homeroom and lunch with their host or hostess.
Friday, February 26th is the deadline for applications and the Placement Center begins processing them. The Placement Center does not give priority to early registrations – but don’t be late in getting in your request.
